Grief Recovery Program

St. John Hospital and Medical Center's Van Elslander Cancer Center (VECC) offers 9-week session throughout the year. This program is designed to help those who have experienced many types of loss and wish to move beyond pain and into healing.

Fee: $100, Scholarships are available.


Location: St. John Hospital & Medical Center: Detroit (Van Elslander Cancer Center, Third Floor Conference Room)

Fall 2009 dates are 10/15 to 12/17 from 6-8 pm. Meets on Thursday, except Thanksgiving, at the VECC, 19229 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods at Moross, adjacent to St. John Hospital. Everyong is welcome regardless of where you receive treatment.


Grief Support Group

Location: St. John River District Hospital: East China (St. Augustines' Church, Richmond, MI)

Additional Info:

Meets on second and fourth Mondays of the month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Call 586-727-5215 for more information.


Open Arms Grief Support Groups

Open Arms serves children and teens from ages 3 - 17 who have experienced the death of a loved one due to accident, illness, suicide or murder. Parents or caregivers can also participate in support groups to address the issues of raising children after a traumatic loss.
