For more than a decade, patients have relied on the Eastside Endoscopy Center. Beginning in the fall of 2007, the same great service became more convenient for northern Macomb and St. Clair County residents.

The Eastside Endoscopy Center (EEC), a joint venture between a group of independent gastroenterologists and St. John Hospital and Medical Center. It was the first endoscopic ambulatory center in lower Michigan and is located in St. Clair Shores. Eastside Endoscopy Center has decided to add a fully functioning endoscopy center at St. John Medical Center

The Eastside Endoscopy Center (EEC) at St. John Medical Center – Macomb Township provides a variety of services, including:

• Diagnostic and therapeutic Gastroscopy
• Colonoscopy for colorectal cancer screening
• Diagnostic and therapeutic Colonscopy (Polypectomy, Dilitation, and Control of Bleeding).

These services are especially important for patients with issues such as:

• Average or increased risk of colon cancer
• Indigestion/heartburn
• Abnormal fi ndings on x-ray
• Peptic ulcers
• Difficulty swallowing
• GI bleeding/anemia
• Chronic constipation or diarrhea
• Crohn’s disease
• Ulcerative colitis
