St. John River District Hospital (SJRDH)offers digital mammography, which provides three-dimensional imagery, giving physicians the opportunity to analyze suspicious growths from multiple angles, increasing the ability to detect breast cancer. This gives patients the key to fighting breast cancer: early detection. The National Cancer Institute has found that digital mammography significantly improves early breast cancer detection among women who are difficult to diagnose and detect: those under age 50, women with high-density breast tissue, and pre-menopausal women. Approximately 10 percent of American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer; an estimated 20 percent of these women will die from the disease.
Mammography services are accredited through the American College of Radiology, Food and Drug Administration and Michigan Quality Standards Act
Hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
