It’s an accepted fact that some patients are easier to manage than others. To help with those who present special challenges in cardiology, the Heart Institute presents Cardiology Specialty Clinics, including the Lipid Clinic, Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic and Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic.
These consultative clinics are designed to help support physicians whose patients are dealing with challenges such as extremely abnormal cholesterol values, failure to respond to traditional medications, or very specific diagnoses, such as pulmonary hypertension and adult congenital heart disease. Physician specialists in each clinic will provide consultation in their particular area of expertise and report back to the referring physician.
Khalid Zakariya, MD, is the physician specialists for the Lipid Clinic, Kamal Mubarak, MD, is the physician specialist for the Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic, and Thomas Forbes, MD, is the physician specialist at the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic.
The clinics are located in the Providence Heart Institute, Southfield, Michigan, and the number for appointments is 248-849-2000. A physician referral is not required.
