Cardiac Rehabilitation Programs

Monitored Program (Phase 2)

If you have had a heart attack, bypass surgery, angioplasty, stent, heart transplant, or have been diagnosed with a condition called stable angina, you may be eligible for our program known as Phase 2.

This program combines heart monitoring, supervised exercise, and education in a warm and supportive environment. Topics discussed include:

  • nutrition
  • weight management
  • medications
  • exercise safety
  • risk factors
  • stress management

Knowing your risk factors and learning how to make positive changes in your life is very important to help you prevent further problems with your heart.

After meeting with one of our staff, an individualized exercise plan will be developed for you based on your needs. Our exercise classes are offered in small groups of 6-8 people. During exercise your heart rate will be monitored and the exercise will be adjusted based on your response. There is a variety of exercise equipment to choose from, including many comfortable sit-down models. Participants in this program usually attend classes 3 times a week for 6-8 weeks. After this time, participants are usually prepared to participate in our exercise maintenance program known as CR Fit (formerly known as Phase 3).

Maintenance Program (CR Fit)

This program is a supervised exercise program that is designed to increase and maintain physical fitness for the patient with heart disease or someone with risk factors for heart disease such as high blood pressure, family history of heart disease, or being overweight. A registered nurse and an exercise physiologist supervise your exercise. Participants can choose individual or group exercise sessions and select from a wide variety of aerobic equipment or participate in weight training options.
