Specialized Pediatric ER Unit

The Department of Emergency Medicine at St. John Hospital has a specialized area devoted entirely to the needs of the acutely ill or injured child. Staffed by specialty-trained physicians, this unit provides care to the sick children and their families in a warm and friendly environment.  

The scope of the services provided includes resuscitation and stabilization of the critically ill child, as well as the evaluation and treatment of a variety of illnesses including asthma, seizures, laceration repair, fractures, child abuse and poisonings. The physicians and nurses in the Pediatric Emergency unit are also experts in providing pain relief and sedation for children undergoing procedures in the Emergency Department. Pediatric Urgent Care

When your child is ill or has a minor injury, and your doctor's office is closed, St. John Hospital provides Pediatric Urgent Care at its location on 12 Mile Road east of Little Mack in St. Clair Shores.
