Aquatics Program at St. John Neurological Recovery Systems

The aquatic pool supplements our comprehensive rehabilitation therapy program in Physical Therapy and Recreational Therapy.  Through the use of the water’s supportive environment, a client can improve his/her strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, coordination, and pain management.  Clients with neurological or orthopedic impairments who meet the programs admission criteria may participate.

The aquatic therapy pool measures 10 feet wide by 20 feet long, with depths of 4 feet and 5 feet.  The pool temperature is maintained at 94 degrees, and offers the following features:

• Stairs with bilateral handrails to enter and exit the pool
• 5 conveniently located grab bars
• Spa jet
• Swim Gym – a current that can be adjusted for swimming resistance
• Plyometric inclines – allow for stretching and high impact aerobics
• Seating to allow greater variability in exercising

     Locker rooms and showers are available in the immediate pool area for your comfort and privacy.
