Providence Orthopaedic - Sports Medicine

Sports Medicine

Regular exercise has various benefits for the body. It keeps bones strong, enhances muscle and joint function, and decreases the risk of heart attack and stroke. If not done safely, however, injuries can happen. Strains and muscle contusions, or bruises, are the most common causes of sports injuries. Others involve fractured bones, dislocated joints, sprains, and torn muscles. Whatever the injury, it’s important to always receive immediate diagnosis and treatment of any sports injury. Doing so will speed your return to play.
