Dr. Yacoub is a lifelong resident of metro Detroit. He finished his medical school education at Wayne State University in 1996 and completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, MI in 1999. He is a full-time faculty member in the Internal Medicine residency program at St. John Hospital and Medical Center, Assistant Professor for Wayne State University School of Medicine, and Director for the St John Center for Internal Medicine Clinic in Macomb Township, MI.
He is current on his American Board of Internal Medicine certification and is continuously being updated in disease diagnosis and management by actively participating in the education of resident physicians. His areas of interest, other than providing sound overall "head to toe" care for his patients, include men's health issues, such as: prostate health, erectile dysfunction, and hormonal imbalances/andropause; and women?s health issues, such as: breast and cervical cancers, osteoporosis, and menopausal related symptoms. His practice also focuses on screening for and treatment of acute and chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, heart disease, lipid disorders, depression/anxiety and chronic pain issues.
Dr. Yacoub is very approachable and easy to communicate with, and is certified as an instructor in Clinician-Patient Health Care Communication through the Bayer Institute for Health Care Communication.
