Have you ever wanted to try Tai Chi? Take a ceramics or art class? You don't need to go far. What began as a complementary therapy resource for the cancer center is now opened to the wider community. The Center for the Healing Arts at Providence Hospital's Novi campus opened in 1999 at the then-new Assarian Cancer Center. The Center provides a wide variety of programs, services and resources that include: art classes, yoga, massage, music therapy and a knitting group. These programs can help to address an individual in terms of the whole self: thinking, creative, spiritual, physical and loving. This philosophy allows individuals to attain balance in their everyday lives.
The Center for the Healing Arts offers services at Providence Hospital's Novi and Southfield campuses. The Center also offers a bi-monthly "Boost Camp Day," which is a daylong retreat for individuals or groups interested in making life improvements and practical repairs. The program provides enrichment, personal exploration and a healthy dose of humor to its participants. It is designed to help people live well and offers an easy way to incorporate the concepts of wholeness and wellness in daily life. See below for details.
