Program Features
Currently we have one hundred forty four ACGME residency positions and ten AOA approved internships. Application to the AOA internship is through the AOA matching program. Even though we do not offer official tracks, the rotating internship can be modified to obtain dual certification in certain areas, which include Transitional Year Residency and Family Practice Residency PGYl positions. If you are interested in a specific categorical program in addition to interviewing with the internship director a specific interview should also be obtained with the categorical program director. Interviews for these positions will normally begin in mid September of each year.
Applications for the AOA rotating internship may be obtained through the Medical
Education office at Providence Hospital and Medical Centers in Southfield, Michigan
starting in August of each year. A brochure regarding the Medical Education program at
Providence Hospital and Medical Centers, compensation and fringe benefits is also
available at the Medical Education office. The inauguration of this program was July 1,
2001 and we expect substantial modifications as we gain experience with the AOA
internship applicants to this program. Further specific information may be obtained by
calling the Osteopathic Director of Medical Education, Dr. Bruce Kaplan, and our
Medical Education office at (248) 849-3216.
