Providence Hospital is once again ranked as one the top 100 hospitals in the United States for heart care, according to an independent national study. Providence is the only hospital in southeast Michigan to receive this recognition six years in a row and the only center in Oakland County to be honored in 2006.

Referral Services to Partial Hospital Program

Clients with psychological problems that significantly disrupt activities of their daily life are appropriate for admission. Clients must voluntarily agree to treatment, have the potential to respond to treatment, and be 18 years or older. Individuals who are actively suicidal or homicidal will not be admitted to the program. Clients must be able to participate in treatment groups and have the capacity to move independently about the unit.

Clients who are not already associated with a Providence attending psychiatrist will be screened to determine the appropriateness of this level of treatment. A Providence attending psychiatrist will follow each client while he or she is in the PDH Program.

PDH clients can be referred by physicians, outpatient therapists, EAP professionals, or Emergency departments. Self-referrals and referrals from loved ones are also accepted.

To make a referral, call the PDH Program during regular business hours at 1-248-849-3306. Should a referral be necessary on the weekend or in the evening, please call the Providence Emergency Department/Psych Area at 1-248-849-3075.

For more information, please call 1-800-875-5566.
