"I had a heart attack that resulted in Quadruple by-pass surgery in 2003. Although I realized that my health exercise and eating habits needed to change, I did not commit enough time and energy to change my life style to improve my health.In November 2006, I had a second major heart attack. After leaving the hospital, I went to a cardiac doctor who said he was going to write a prescription for Cardiac Rehab. I was also told by my family physician that I was now a diabetic.At this point I felt like I was falling apart and was mad at the world because of the cards that had been dealt. After a stress test and heart catheterization in Aug. 2006, I underwent triple bypass surgery. As part of my recovery, I attended the St. John Cardiac Rehab program. Since attending rehab, I've lost a few pounds and my diabetes is under control.  I am now in phase 3.
